Lots of good news today..

Ok we got some really good news today. Ellie is now a 6 pounder which is almost double her birth rate. Her blood test results show that her levels are up and she is making her own red blood cells. This means that maybe dads blood can go to help another baby here in the NICU that may need it.

Also Dr. Finkowski ordered her apnea monitor and oxygen for home and also moved her up to 5 bottles. We hope to avoid the oxygen but know that the monitor will come with us. She will also do another head ultrasound on monday and she will get hopefully her last eye exam on tuesday of next week. She also asked us to make sure and take out CPR class to get that over with. This means that sometime in the near future we may just get our litte one ourtof there and to her bed at home. We are trying to not get our hopes up but this has been a great day.

Also Ellie now has a new trick, she has figured out how to hold her Passi in her mouth. Seems like this works for her better than spitting it our every 5 seconds and waiting on someone to put it back.

She's such a cutie!!! Congratulations on all the good news, it seems like her going home isn't that far off! Zachary came home on oxygen and an apnea monitor...let us know if you need some tips! Oh, here's one tip, ask for a 50 foot tubing with the oxygen, usually they just give you a 25 foot one and that isn't quite long enough!
